This is my first time making this dish, but I’ll definitely be adding it to my meal rotation!
What you will need:
- Canned tuna in water (I used 2 cans)
- Avocado
- 1/2 Onion
- Salt and Pepper
- Pickle
- Sauerkrout
- Garlic powder
- Celery seed
Drain the tuna, put it into a dish and mash with a fork. Chop half the onion and add to the tuna. Pick a ripe avocado and add it to the rest of the ingredients, mash again with a fork. To achieve the right consistency, I added pickles and sauerkraut until the mixture was no longer too dry for my taste. Then I threw in some spices – feel free to use whichever spices you like.
Now that you have your healthy tuna salad without mayo, what do you do with it? You could put it on a piece of bread or on a lettuce leaf. In this case, I decided to make it into a salad by adding the tuna salad on top of some greens. I dressed it with apple cider vinaigrette and sprinkled some spicy pumpkin seeds on top.
