Lettuce Wrap Bacon Burgers – Cara-Michele’s Kitchen

Fast-food burgers have nothing on this recipe I’m about to share. And as a bonus I’ll show you how to make quiche that you can eat for breakfast, for lunch or as a side to another meal.

What You Will Need

  • Romaine lettuce
  • Grass-fed ground beef
  • Bacon
  • Avocado
  • Onion
  • Black pepper
  • Salt
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Garlic powder or real garlic

For the Quiche

  • Greens
  • Coconut oil
  • Bacon
  • Eggs
  • Cheese (optional)

Start by cooking the bacon. In a separate pan, heat up coconut oil and add greens, salt and pepper. Saute until soft, then remove from the skillet. Use the same skillet to saute some diced onions for the burger and the quiche. If you like fresh onions on your burger, also cut some bigger chunks to sprinkle between the layers.

For the quiche, break eggs into a bowl (I used 8), add spices to taste and mix well. Add sauteed onions, greens and chopped bacon. Grease up a muffin tin and pour your quiche mixture – fill 3/4 of the way. Preheat oven to 350F and slide the muffin trey in. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until firm.

For the burgers, mix your ground beef with onions and spices and make patties. If you want wraps instead of burgers, try an elongated shape. Cook the burgers the way you prefer. Slice an avocado, combine with bacon, onions, cooked patties and wrap it all in romaine lettuce. Enjoy!
