At Women in Wellness, we love helping women, men and entire families feel better, be healthier and enjoy life more. But you have to be the one who makes the first step—we can’t do it for you. And it’s not always easy to admit that you don’t feel good about yourself or that your life is missing something. But you can do it and you can change things. To help you get motivated, here are a few lessons our client Marne has learned during her journey through the 21-Day Standard Process Purification Program. You can watch the full video at the bottom of the post.
“It feels weird at first but after 2-3 days you are, like, “wow!”
It’s natural to feel hesitant to try something new, especially after trying multiple solutions that failed. Is this going to be just another waste of time? Don’t get caught up in this logic. Everything you do, successful or not, teaches you something and provides a valuable life experience. Besides, you never know if you are going to like something if you don’t try it.
“To have your body physically react to feeling well was cool”
The Standard Process purification program is meant to cleanse your body and establish a healthy new rhythm. And the first few days can be rough as your body is adapting to all the changes. But all the unpleasant symptoms are, like Marne concluded, your body’s response to healthy nutrition. And this makes you reevaluate the lifestyle you’ve been living.
“It wasn’t a lot to figure out at all”
Are you one of those people who tend to overthink and overcomplicate things? Is this a protective mechanism you’ve adopted to keep yourself from trying new things? Getting started and sticking with the program was a breeze for Marne, even though she was nervous in the beginning.
“You don’t need all that meat”
Oh the things you learn about your body! No, you really don’t need meat to meet your daily protein requirement. Yes, it means all that bacon, sausage and eggs in the morning is probably an overkill. You can easily get your protein from sources other than meat.
“You don’t hesitate to call a doctor and take a pill, why do you hesitate to do something that’s natural?”
It is a great observation on Marne’s part. Why, in fact, do we trust a medication to fix something that can probably be addressed with right nutrition and exercise? Living in the world where Western medicine is popular and readily available, we often forget that we have alternatives.
“What are you having in your shakes? – It’s a different conversation”
Once you make the first step to being healthy, you’ll notice many things changing, including your social life. One thing leads to another and before you know it, you’ll be having a smoothie after mowing the loan instead of a beer.
“It’s for the people that are interested”
As Marne points out, purification program is not for everyone—it’s for people who are truly interested in being healthy. You shouldn’t do it because someone made a comment about your weight. You should do it because YOU want to feel better.
“Are you creating an opportunity for your family to be healthy?”
You probably find yourself making many decisions on behalf of your family. You choose the food that fills the fridge, you make school lunches, you pick up the pizza when you are too busy to cook. Just remember, that when you take the chance to eat healthier, you are also creating opportunities for your family.
