Women’s Self Defense

When it comes to self defense the more prepared you are the less likely you are to need it!

Cara Michele teaches realistic, effective self-defense training that anyone can learn.  Women in Wellness is always interested in helping women to discover their strength and potential and taking care of ourselves in a physical situation is no exception.

Our classes will provide women of all ages and abilities training and education in:
·  Awareness
·  Prevention
·  Risk reduction
·  Risk avoidance; and
·  Self-realization of your own physical power

These tools greatly increase your personal protection options to combat physical assault.
The first concept that we discuss is how to prevent situations from ever occurring in the first place.  Here are a few things to things to consider:

·    Be Aware. Awareness is one of the most important things in self-defense. By being aware of your surroundings, many threats on the streets can be avoided.
·    If you see or sense problems on your way, change route or go to the other side of the road and prepare to run or defend yourself.
·    Never act or look like an easy target.
·    Most “fights” are won before they start, and aggressors will back down if you maintain eye contact and are not intimidated by them.
·    Because many situations start after verbal quarrel, always try to “cool down” the situation or try to get out of the commotion before things get heated.

The key to knowing what to do if you need to defend yourself is to practice.  Our class will show you simple and basic moves that will help you show your attacker that they chose the wrong person and then how to get yourself to safety.  When you are in danger, do not hesitate to use them!
